Every year around the world, food prices keep increasing. Here is some trivia: In 2008, food prices even set records, according to the UN's food and Agriculture Organization. With food prices keep increasing, many starve everyday. Also according to the UN's food and Agriculture Organizations, about 44 million have reached to the malnutrition. This makes them join the other 925 million in this world lacking from food. I understand many parts in this world need money for their resources but the many starving are just off the charts and that hurts to know.

According to the United Nations, a severe weather storm can heavily damage our food supplies. In 2012, the United States experienced its largest heatwaves since 1974. Abdolreza Abbassian, a senior economist with the UN food and agriculture organization, said "We've not been producing as much as we are consuming. That is why stocks are being run down. Supplies are now very tight across the world and reserves are at a very low level, leaving no room for unexpected events next year." In africa, main foods like wheat and maize are decreasing in production and caused many riots.

                                                           My Opinion

By reading these articles, the food crisis problem seems to be getting worse. To many people, you never want to see many civilians starving to death. As a student and individual who can eat and drink as much as possible, it's troublesome to see these countries suffering. All I can think to do is donating money to whoever needs the money or supplies. Weather can be a factor of food crisis, which is something no of us can do to stop it. Also as a person, I can stop wasting food or water because I know others need this more then I do.

The topic I have chosen is the Global food crisis expands. I chose this topic because many countries around the world suffer from starvation. Food prices keep increasing and that's not helping this problem.
